TTeledtronics

NEOSID (CANADA) LTD. was established in 1952 as a manufacturer and distributor of soft magnetic materials and components, primarily powdered iron cores, ferrite cores, and HF welding impeders. It is located in a well equipped plant in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
NEOSID was originally formed as a member of the Magnetic Materials Group PLC, headquartered in Welwyn Garden City, England, with plants in the UK and Australia. In 1989, the group purchased Krystinel Corp. (MMG North America) of Paterson, New Jersey, USA. Because of it's affiliation in the Magnetic Materials Group, Neosid Canada is now officially known as MMG Canada.

Another milestone in the group’s history was marked in 1992 with the purchase of the MMG companies by TT Group PLC, an international conglomerate of industrial companies specializing principally in the manufacture of niche market products. The name of TT Group has since been changed to TT electronics plc in order to reflect its focus as a corporate supplier to the electronic and electrical manufacturing sectors. MMG Canada is proud to embrace our new corporate identity and we are committed, as always, in providing the highest quality customer service.

All factories within the Group are equipped with modern processing plants commensurate with being one of the major manufacturers of magnetic materials.

In addition to its own manufacturing activities, MMG Canada also distributes products from other group members, including permanent magnets and plastic transformer bobbins.

MMG Canada has now made a commitment to document and implement a Quality System that adheres to the ISO 9002 standard.

Company Profile

MMG Sailcrest was established in 1990 when it became part of the MMG Group of companies. The company is committed to manufacturing high quality magnetic cores in pure iron and nickel-iron alloys (Permalloys) to meet the needs of a continuously changing electronics industry.

Company History

Basildon Metal Powder Parts was incorporated in 1954 as a private company producing sintered metal components for engineering applications and soft magnetic components from carbonyl iron powders. Basildon Metal Powder Parts was then purchased by GKN in 1968 and being incongruous to their business, the soft magnetic business was resold. Sailcrest Engineers Ltd. was formed and traded for three years in Essex. The company then relocated to the Isle of Man in 1971 and continued to produce axial leaded and toroid cores from various metallic powders. In 1990 Sailcrest Engineers Ltd. was sold to Magnetic Materials Group plc and as a result was ultimately acquired by TT Group plc (London). The company name was registered as Neosid (Isle of Man) Ltd. but continued to trade as MMG Sailcrest. At this time the magnetic interests of Salford Electrical Instruments Ltd. (S.E.I.) were purchased from G.E.C. and it's 'Genalex ® ' product range (Permalloy) was transferred to the Isle of Man factory. In June 2001 TT Group plc (London) changed it's name to TT electronics plc (London).

MMG Sailcrest continues to produce an extensive range of toroidal cores, rods, pots, cups, caps and sleeves in high frequency carbonyl irons, low frequency pure iron powders, molypermalloy (MPP) and permalloy High Flux materials.

Quality Assurance

The manufacturing techniques used ensures the highest quality product is produced at the most competitive pricing. Quality inspection is done at all stages of production with samples being tested in our laboratory during powder preparation and core production. At the end of production the cores are individually tested and graded thereby guaranteeing Quality Assurance.

Specifications listed are in accordance with BS 6454 (1983) standards for calculating effective parameters of magnetic piece parts. Dimensional data is expressed in scientific notation to three significant figures (i.e. 1.29E+05). Magnetic properties for C1 and C2 are expressed to five significant figures (i.e. 0.4495). Sampling procedures are indexed by acceptable quality levels (AQL) for lot-by-lot inspection in accordance with BS 6001 (1991) ISO 2859-1 (1998).

Genalex ® is a registered trademark of MMG Sailcrest.
